The Role of the Dental Hygienist

The dental hygienist and the dentist work together to meet the oral health needs of patients. Whether you visit your dental hygienist twice a year or more frequently, they are an integral part of your dental care. The roles of the hygienist include but are not limited to:

Assessing oral health conditions and reviewing health history

Probing and charting periodontal pockets

Taking and developing dental x-rays

Removing calculus and plaque (hard and soft deposits) from teeth surfaces

Applying preventive materials to the teeth (sealants, fluorides, and antibiotics)

Helping patients learn oral hygiene strategies to maintain optimal oral health

Donna Baggett - Donna is a Registered Dental Hygienist who has been practicing hygiene for thirty years. She came to our office in 1996. She lives in Dallas and is single. In her spare time she loves to shop and go out with her close-knit group of friends.

Lynn Bryan - Lynn is a Registered Dental Hygienist and has been with Buckhead Dental for nineteen years. She lives in Peachtree Corners with her husband Daryl and her two children Savannah and Dallas. She is active in her church and loves to play Bunco with the ladies in her neighborhood.

Pam Cleveland - Pam is a Registered Dental Hygienist and has been in practice with Buckhead Dental for sixteen years. She has three beautiful daughters and devotes her free time to being involved in her children’s sporting and school activities.

Natalie Geter - Natalie is a Registered Dental Hygienist. She graduated from Clayton State College in 1993 and has been with Buckhead Dental ever since! Natalie has two sons, Bailey and John Michael. She is active in her church and loves to read in her spare time.

Tiffanni Graham - Tiffanni is a Registered Dental Hygienist who has been practicing for six years; she has been with our office since 2002. Tiffanni is a native of Mobile, Alabama and loves to attend their annual Mardi Gras celebration- the original Mardi Gras! She has lived in Georgia for fourteen years and is married with a wonderful son, Ashton, and a new baby boy, Chase. She is also a certified CPR instructor.

Lesley Madden - Lesley is a Registered Dental Hygienist who graduated from Georgia Perimeter College in 2001, the same year she came to Buckhead Dental. Lesley lives in Loganville with her husband and two sons and loves to travel, especially to the beach!
