Our Doctors
Richard Weinman, DMD
Richard Weinman, DMD, an Atlanta native and graduate of Northside High School, obtained his BS degree from Tulane University in 1973 and his Doctor of Medical Dentistry degree from the Medical College of Georgia in August in 1976.
Dr. Weinman served as President of the Northern District Dental Society from 2001 to 2002 and as President of the Georgia Dental Association from 2005 to 2006. Dr. Weinman continues to serve on numerous committees and councils of the Georgia Dental Association and the American Dental Association. He is a clinical instructor at the Georgia Health Sciences University, formerly the Medical College of Georgia, College of Dental Medicine. He also serves as an adjunct clinical professor at the University Of North Carolina School Of Dentistry. He has served as a dental volunteer at the Ben Massell Dental Clinic since 1977 and is a member of the clinic's Executive Council. Dr. Weinman is a Fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry which is awarded after completing years of continuing education and taking a comprehensive exam. Dr. Weinman was named Northern District Dental Society's' (Greater Atlanta) 2007 Dentist of the Year. In 2009, he was inducted into OKU Honor Dental Society as an honorary member.
Dr. Weinman is married to general dentist Dr. Rebecca Weinman and they have a daughter, Melissa, and a son, Paten. Dr. Weinman enjoys running, reading, and spending time with this family.
Rebecca Weinman, DDS
Dr. Rebecca Weinman began her dental career in 1973 as an orthodontic assistant before completing dental hygiene school in 1977. She graduated from the Emory University School of Dentistry in 1985. An active member of local, state, and national dental associations, she currently serves as chair of Membership Services Committee for the Georgia Dental Association and an alternate delegate for the Georgia Dental Association's Northern District. Dr. Weinman also instructs and administers testing for dental assisting certification. She is a member of the Academy of General Dentistry and the Hinman Dental Society of Atlanta, which are continuing education centered organizations. She was inducted into the Pierre Fauchard honorary Dental Society in 2007.
Dr. Weinman volunteers her dental services for the Face to Face Program of the Partnership Against Domestic Violence to help rebuild the smiles of domestic abuse victims. In 2007, she was given the Hope Award for her dedicated service to the Partnership Against Domestic Violence. Dr. Weinman has also served as a committee chair for the 2011 Georgia Mission of Mercy, a weekend of donated dentistry to those in need. Outside of dentistry, Dr. Weinman is a volunteer for Ahimsa House, a rescue and foster organization for animal victims of domestic violence. She has volunteered and served on the board of directors for the Georgia chapter of the Arthritis Foundation, and is a member of the Temple, where she serves on the Interfaith Committee.
In her spare time, she can be found in her flower garden with her dog Betty. She especially enjoys spending time with her children Paten and Melissa and her husband, Richard.
Jason Myerson, DMD
Dr. Myerson has been in private practice since 2005 after graduating in the top of his class from the Medical College of Georgia and then completing a residency in Advanced General Dentistry at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston. He was awarded the Senior Dental Student Award for showing the greatest potential in the field of general dentistry in 2005 and was inducted into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon Honorary Dental Society by his professors. After associating with different practices in his hometown of Atlanta, he was recruited to Buckhead Dental Associates.
Since joining the practice in 2007, he has been fortunate to develop a wonderful group of dedicated patients. Dr. Myerson prides himself on providing the highest quality of patient care in a comfortable setting. Don't be surprised if he begins singing along to the background music while he is working…and his assistant, Zoya, may even join the fun! Dr. Myerson's expertise ranges from tooth colored fillings, crown and bridge work, cosmetic veneering and bonding, periodontal therapy, and invisible braces.
Dr. Myerson serves as an Assistant Clinical Professor in the Department of Oral Rehabilitation at the Medical College of Georgia. He volunteers monthly at the Ben Massell Dental Clinic, providing help for those in need. Dr. Myerson, along with Dr. Richard Weinman and Dr. Rebecca Weinman, participates in the Face to Face Program for people who are victims of domestic violence. Together, they reconstruct their mouths while the victims work to reconstruct their lives. He is an active member of the Georgia Dental Association and Hinman Dental Society.
Dr. Myerson is originally from Atlanta and graduated from The Westminster Schools. He attended college at Tufts University in Boston prior to returning to Georgia for his dental training.
In his spare time, Dr. Myerson enjoys spending time with his wife and their daughter. He attempts to sneak in a round of golf or a tennis match on the weekends. He enjoys listening to music, watching television, exercising, and attending local sporting events.
Katherine Pafford, DMD
Dr. Pafford received her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Georgia, where she majored in biology and minored in music with a concentration in piano performance. She earned her Doctor of Medical Dentistry degree in 2005 at the Medical College of Georgia School of Dentistry in her hometown of Augusta. While in dental school, she earned the Certificate of Merit from the American Academy of Oral Medicine for showing proficiency and promise in the field of oral medicine. During Dr. Pafford's senior year, she was selected to be a member of honors clinics in general dentistry and in emergency dentistry. She also completed an externship at the Ben Massell volunteer dental clinic in Atlanta and served on the admissions committee for the dental school.
Following graduation, Dr. Pafford was accepted into the General Practice Residency program at The Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio. She completed two additional years of advanced dental training in this program, serving as Chief Resident her second year. While in her residency, she had a concentrated interest in the care of special needs patients. She also focused on the treatment of severely medically compromised patients at the Ohio State University Medical Center. As a result of her service and training, she was inducted as a Fellow in the American Association of Hospital Dentistry. Dr. Pafford also served on the dental faculty as a clinical instructor for predoctoral dental students. After completing her studies, she returned to her home state to practice in Atlanta.
Dr. Pafford is an active member of the American Dental Association, the Georgia Dental Association, the Northern District Dental Society, the Atlanta Seattle Study Club, the Eames Dental Study Club, and the Hinman Dental Society.
Dr. Pafford enjoys spending time with her husband, Jeff, who is an endodontist in downtown Decatur. They have two young daughters, Carter and Caroline. She enjoys cooking, entertaining, and playing the piano and violin. She is a member of the Habersham Garden Club and loves gardening with her daughters. Dr. Pafford is active in her girls' schools and is devoted to their education.
Hygienists
The dental hygienist and the dentist work together to meet the oral health needs of patients. Whether you visit your dental hygienist twice a year or more frequently, they are an integral part of your dental care. The roles of the hygienist include but are not limited to:
- Assessing oral health conditions and reviewing health history
- Probing and charting periodontal pockets
- Taking and developing dental x-rays
- Removing calculus and plaque (hard and soft deposits) from teeth surfaces
- Applying preventive materials to the teeth (sealants, fluorides, and antibiotics)
- Helping patients learn oral hygiene strategies to maintain optimal oral health
Donna
Donna is a Registered Dental Hygienist who has been practicing hygiene for thirty years. She came to our office in 1996. She lives in Dallas and is single. In her spare time she loves to shop and go out with her close-knit group of friends.
Lynn
Lynn has been with the Buckhead Dental family since 1988. She has her Associate of Science Degree in dental hygiene from DeKalb College. Lynn has been a member of the American Dental Hygienists Association since 1986.
Lynn is a true southern lady having grown up in Calhoun, Georgia. She currently lives with her husband Darryl in Peachtree Corners. They have two children both attending Georgia Southern University.
Pam
Pam is a graduate of DeKalb College earning an Associate of Science degree in dental hygiene in 1989. Like many of the Buckhead Dental team members, she has been with the office for almost twenty years!
She and her husband have three daughters. Most of her free time is dedicated to her girls: attending sporting events such as crew, ballet, and cheerleading.
Natalie
Natalie obtained her Associates Degree in dental hygiene in 1993 from Clayton State College. She is a member of the American Dental Hygienists Association. Natalie has been with our office since 1993.
Natalie has been married for 17 years. She and her husband, Joe, have two sons who are 14 years old and 9 years old. Natalie enjoys volunteering at both schools where her boys attend. She is also very active in her church community and co-teaches a ladies Sunday school class. In her spare time, Natalie enjoys reading historical fiction. Surprisingly, she also has a motorcycle, which she rides…chaps and all!
Tiffanni
Tiffanni graduated from Georgia Perimeter College in 2001 with an Associate of Science degree in Dental Hygiene. She is also a certified CPR instructor. Tiffanni has been with Buckhead Dental Associates since 2002. She is the mother of two boys who keep her very busy. Tiffanni is from Mobile, Alabama and enjoys participating in the "Original Home" Mardi Gras celebration. She loves to travel and attend the boys sporting activities.
Lesley
Lesley graduated from Georgia Perimeter College where she received her Associates of Science degree in dental hygiene. She has been a dental hygienist with Buckhead Dental Associates since 2001. Lesley is married and has two boys.
Dental Assistants
The dental assistant works closely with the dentist and the dental hygienist to help provide optimal care for patients. Roles of the assistant include but are not limited to:
- Working with the dentist with dental procedures
- Taking impressions of the patients' teeth for study models and whitening trays
- Making temporary bridges and crowns
- Taking and developing dental x-rays
- Assisting with sterilization to ensure infection and contaminant control
- Helping patients achieve and maintain a maximum level of comfort during the dental visit
Viktoriya
Viktoriya has been a certified dental assistant since 2003. She has been at Buckhead Dental Associates for four years. She currently works with Dr. Rebecca Weinman in addition to helping the other doctors.
She moved to the United States in 1998 from Moldova, a small Eastern European nation. Viktoriya is married and has two beautiful daughters who keep her very busy!
Kimberly
Kim has been a certified dental assistant for fourteen years. She has been with Buckhead Dental Associates since 2008 where she primarily assists Dr. Richard Weinman in addition to the other doctors. She received her training through the Red Cross Dental Assisting program in Okinawa, Japan. Kim has supported our military troops for the past ten years working as a contracted assistant. She has worked in Okinawa, Japan, Camp LeJeune, North Carolina and the Pentagon.
She is an Illinois native but has been in Atlanta for the past five years. She lives in Duluth and has a son at Georgia Gwinnett College. Kim enjoys cooking and spending time outdoors.
Zoya
Zoya has been at Buckhead Dental Associates for sixteen years. She currently serves as Dr. Myerson's assistant as well as helping out the other doctors. Zoya is also the office OSHA officer.
Prior to moving to the United States in 1993, she lived in Dushanbe, Tajikistan. She and her husband have two sons. Zoya enjoys traveling and spending time with her extended family in Atlanta and New York.
Sue
Sue is one of Buckhead Dentals' veteran assistants, having worked with the office for over 22 years. She works primarily with Dr. Richard Weinman along with the other doctors. Sue also serves as the office supply manager.
She is originally from Illinois but has been in the Atlanta area for over twenty years. She lives in Alpharetta and has two children, a high school aged son and daughter. Sue is also a huge animal lover and has two dogs, Sophie & Rabun.
Tamara
Tamara has been with Buckhead Dental for 9 years. She currently works as Dr. Myerson's assistant as well as helping the other doctors. She is from Minsk, Belarus and was granted her American citizenship in 2003. She loves to travel in her spare time.
Front Office Staff
Pat
Pat has been with Buckhead Dental Associates for 16 years. She serves as the office Hygiene Coordinator. Patients and staff affectionately refer to her as "Mama Pat".
She lives in the McDonough area and has two children and three grandchildren who are the light of her life. In her spare time, Pat enjoys spending time with her family, attending church, gardening, reading, and decorating.
Kim
Kim has been in the dental field for over 16 years and has been with Buckhead Dental Associates since 2004. She serves as the office Insurance Coordinator.
She enjoys traveling to her native island of Jamaica with her sons Austin, to visit her family and go to the beach.
Juanita
Juanita has been at Buckhead Dental Associates since 2008 but has been in the dental field for over 40 years. She has been a chair side assistant as well as a hygienist. She currently serves as the doctor's appointment coordinator.
Originally from Birmingham, Alabama, Juanita has been in the Atlanta area since 1992. She has a grown daughter and two granddaughters. She is a very active member of Holy Cross Anglican Church in Loganville. She also crochets for fun.
Stephanie
Stephanie has been with Buckhead Dental Associates since 2009. She currently serves as the office financial coordinator.
She is a native Atlantan and graduated from The University of Georgia. In her spare time, Stephanie enjoys reading, walking, traveling, and most importantly spending time with her husband and their two dogs, Annabelle the Havanese and Henry the Dachshund.
